Return to reality

This morning I headed for the gym in a complete absence of snow and a bit of sunshine. In fact the temperatures have returned to a proper March cold rather than the Arctic conditions brought by the Beast last week.

Mind you, I did start to get a bit cold sitting, Skyping with mum in my office. I blamed an hour and a half of inaction. Mum said I should have brought a fleece out with me…though she called it a jumper. (It occurs to me that I don’t think I’ve actually worn a jumper in 15 years.)

After Skyping, the girls and I had an early lunch before heading to the park for a short, muddy run around. My timings were a bit compressed today because I had a meeting with the real estate agent regarding the sale of the cottage.

And so I was sitting waiting in Starbucks at 2:30 (the meeting was for 3pm but I’m usually early and I think Matt has worked this out so he’s generally early – it works for us both) about to start writing my blog entry when Matt walked in. I almost immediately powered down my hybrid and we talked about the plans over the next fortnight.

The tenant leaves on March 26 so the plan is to have all the relevant contractors ready to go that week and the cottage back on the market in the first week of April. It’ll be a bit tight but Matt is confident we can pull it off. He’s arranging it all. As for me, I’m just really curious to see the place after so long.

Following our successful and short meeting, I headed home to two manic puppies.

My late afternoon was mostly spent making a second and third batch of fermented veg and another jar of mayonnaise, this time with oregano. Both have been a massive success so I guess I’ll just have to keep on making them.

And that was it for me (apart from the usual humdrum things that house husbands get up to).

After four really long posts, this one is a bit of a relief I must say!
